Live in Scarborough

Located in the eastern part of Toronto, Scarborough has grown over 200 years from a collection of small rural villages - to a vital and diverse corner of the megacity. The area was named by the wife of John Graves Simcoe, the first lieutenant governor of Upper Canada, who said the bluffs along Lake Ontario shores reminded her of the limestone cliffs in Scarborough, England. The community is bordered on the north by Steeles Avenue, south by Lake Ontario, west by Victoria Park Avenue and east by the City of Pickering. The housing mix consists of small bungalows in established neighbourhoods, communities of townhomes and detached homes as well as a significant number of condos, which are anchored to shopping centres and/or transportation hubs. Scarborough hosts many natural landmarks such as the Rouge River Valley, parts of which are still in a natural wooded state and home to a variety of wildlife. Several golf courses and the world-class Toronto Zoo are also located in Scarborough.
